Bedruthan steps

It was a beautiful day yesterday and we enjoyed a drive over to the north coast of Cornwall. I painted at the National Trust owned Bedruthan steps. I've never before seen this place on a clear day with no rain so it was such a treat! There's also easy parking, a nice tearoom, gorgeous walks and I found a spot out of the wind to paint. Needless to say I really enjoyed myself here :-)

  1. I visited Cornwall some years ago in the coldest weather for years, and coming then from sunny South Africa, I would dash out of the heated car, take a few photos, scribble a sketch and dash back to the car, wet and very cold. It must be amazing on a clear day.

  2. This type of painting is difficult, and you have totally nailed it. Beautiful colors and I can feel the wind. Must get to Cornwall soon.
