Inks workshop

I held a workshop last week on painting in inks, it was a great day. We used dye based inks and acrylic inks and a whole assortment of brushes, sponges, toothbrushes, candle wax, oil pastels, dip pens... so many fun techniques.
This is a quick demo I did in the afternoon, with iridescent medium added on to some of the sparkly leaves - very festive!
We had a little raffle to win the demo piece too :-)

Tomorrow I'm going back to London for the Royal Institute of Oil painters painting evening and hoping to catch the Roger Dellar demo in the afternoon too.
Should have plenty to tell you about that when we next speak!

  1. Haidee, a whole new world has just opened up for me by reading this post and seeing your wonderfully free ink work. I particularly like the idea of a few black lines to suggest the edges of foliage amidst almost abstract colour. Congrats on the must post all about the evening.

  2. lovely ink painting - always fancied having a go, such wonderful clear colour.

Thank you for your words!
