Le Tristan

Ile le Tristan
Our first full day in Douarnenez today and the rain has definitely followed us from Saint Malo.
Thanks to my umbrella I was able to stand out in the rain this morning working on this. The island you can see is called Le Tristan, and as I painted it kept disappearing and reappearing through the fog and rain.
It was really the lovely green reflections in the sea that I was interested in.
Afterwards I got soaking wet walking around looking for some lunch. This afternoon I ended up painting the beautiful breakfast room here at the hotel, which was especially enjoyable as the other artists kept coming in for cups of tea to warm up and dry off!

  1. Great recession and strong colour and value. The composition works well also.
